An update has emerged on CM Punk potentially returning to WWE, with Vince McMahon’s stance on a Punk return reportedly revealed.

Following Punk’s AEW release in September, there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of a CM Punk WWE comeback.
With previous reports indicating that the two sides are ‘in talks’ with one another, rumors have been swirling about Punk’s in-ring future.
Dave Meltzer now reports that while Punk was interested in a WWE move, WWE have turned him down.

Stating that it would’ve been Vince McMahon’s call, Meltzer noted the following on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“They turned him down. He wanted to go there and the decision was a no.
“It can always change, and it was brought up to me, there’s no such thing as ‘no forever’ when it comes to WWE, but it’s no for now.
“That was the decision that was made. It’s Vince’s decision. Vince, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque, and obviously they decided that the negatives outweighed the positives.”

A previous report noted that individuals from both sides believe that there would need to be ‘fences mended’ within the locker-room if a CM Punk return was to happen.
