It has emerged that a WWE star signed a new contract with the company this week after a recent promotion on the roster.

With many big contracts coming due in 2024, WWE looks to have locked down a potential future star.
As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dragon Lee signed a WWE main roster contract this week.

Meltzer wrote:
Dragon Lee signed his new main roster deal last week. Basically it made it worth it to him of having signed the NXT deal rather than the offered AEW deal.
As noted, he went to people who knew the U.S. scene who told him he’d be lost in the shuffle in AEW.
Previously people would have said not to go to WWE given their track record with all the wrestlers who came from Mexico besides Alberto Del Rio.

Dragon Lee joined WWE’s developmental brand NXT in early 2023 and it only took him a few months before he was moved to SmackDown – although it was part of his deal that he’d be fast-tracked to the main roster.
His brother Dralistico announced earlier this week that he’d signed with AEW, joining their other brother Rush.
Dragon Lee picked up a win over Cedric Alexander on SmackDown last week.
Names that have been mentioned with contracts coming due in the not too distant future include Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, LA Knight and Becky Lynch.
