WWE sources have reacted to rumors about Will Ospreay potentially joining the company when he becomes a free agent in February 2024.

Ospreay has had multiple big matches in AEW this year, leading to some fans assuming that’ll be his most likely destination, but it’s not quite as simple as that.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has repeatedly reported that WWE has had interest in Will Ospreay too.
Moreover, Ospreay himself is said to be open to a WWE move despite the opposite being the case previously.
A new report from Fightful Select has provided an update on the situation, noting that sources believe WWE has a “heavy interest” in signing Ospreay.

There have even reportedly been “preliminary overtures” made according to sources within WWE.
It still seems to very much be an open playing field, with AEW, WWE, and IMPACT Wrestling/TNA all interested, and of course staying with NJPW is always an option as well.
Ospreay spoke highly of IMPACT Wrestling after working a couple of matches for the promotion last month.

According to the aforementioned Fightful report, NJPW sources mentioned that they’d “love” to keep Ospreay but they don’t see it being on a full-time basis like it is now.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
