A top WWE star has teased a first-ever match with CM Punk following the Best in the World’s recent return to WWE.

Following Punk’s shock return to WWE after almost a decade at Survivor Series 2023, reports immediately following focused on the reactions of two Raw stars, that being Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.
While Rollins’ irate response to Punk’s return seems set to build into an angle, reports of McIntyre storming out the building in Chicago raised many questions.
Although the reaction initially seemed to be related to Punk’s return, it was later revealed that McIntyre’s frustration was based around things “broader than” Punk.
Regardless of the reasoning, it seems as if McIntyre is going to stoke the CM Punk flames a bit based on a new post on Twitter.

McIntyre uploaded a picture of his bloody face following his physical altercation with Rollins and Jey Uso on Raw along with the curious caption of:

The caption is course the opening lyrics to Punk’s iconic Cult of Personality theme song from Living Colour and a clear reference to the newest WWE signee.
It remains to be seen whether Punk and McIntyre will indeed interact with one another on Raw, although Punk is reportedly set for a feud with Rollins soon, so perhaps he will also cross paths with the Scotsman.
If McIntyre and Punk do end up facing off inside a WWE ring one-on-one, it would mark the first time they have ever done so having only ever competed in multi-man matches together during both of their original runs in the company.
