An update has emerged on the reaction of those within WWE to Liv Morgan’s arrest, and potential plans for Morgan’s return to the ring.

In a report by Villages-News.com, it was detailed that Liv Morgan (real name Gionna Daddio) was arrested in Florida for ‘possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams)’ and ‘possession of drugs, possibly synthetic cannabinoid’ at 6:30 PM on Thursday December 14, 2023.
According to the report, a Sheriff’s deputy noted that the jeep she was operating crossed over the lines of a county road and pulled the star over.
The arrest report notes that when the deputy approached, ‘the odor of marijuana was detected.’ Upon inspection of her vehicle, a ‘small plastic bag containing marijuana’ and a vape pen were recovered.
The ‘oil-like substance’ in the pen was ‘tested and proven to be marijuana’ according to the arrest report.

Liv Morgan bonded out of detainment for $3,000 and was released several hours after the arrest.
Per PWInsider, several ‘top executives’ from WWE were aware, and had spoken with Morgan on Friday, the day following the arrest. Despite this, Morgan’s arrest wasn’t widely known about within WWE prior to reports going public.
According to the report, the arrest doesn’t appear to have hurt Morgan’s standing within the company.

It was noted that sources told PWInsider that while WWE wants the situation to be resolved as soon as possible, it’s not an issue that would put Morgan in danger of being released by the company.
It was also pointed out that Morgan has always been considered a hard worker, and is generally well liked backstage.
Morgan has been out of action since July 2023, having suffered a shoulder injury.

According to PWInsider, Morgan’s return had already been pencilled in prior to her arrest, and it’s believed that her arrest has not changed these plans at the time of writing.
The belief was reportedly that Morgan would be returning in 2024 ahead of the build to WrestleMania, with Morgan reportedly ‘very much in the mix’ for what has been described as a ‘high profile program’.
We will continue to provide details on Liv Morgan’s status as they become available.
