The latest backstage update has emerged regarding WWE’s plans for the men’s Money in the Bank holder, Damian Priest of Judgment Day.

This past Monday on the January 15 episode of Raw, Seth Rollins defended and retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal in the main event.
Prior to that match, many fans were speculating that it might have been the night that Damian Priest would cash in his Money in the Bank contract he won in London last July.

Priest did come out to ringside, but any attempt to cash-in the contract was thwarted by Drew McIntyre as the two ended up fighting out of the ringside area.
In terms of what WWE actually had planned for Priest that night, Fightful Select reports that there was “never” any consideration given to the idea of Priest cashing in.

For what it’s worth, the same was said about Jinder Mahal, although far fewer fans would have actually predicted a Mahal win compared to the seemingly real possibility of Priest cashing in and walking out as champion.
Damian Priest is set for a match against Drew McIntyre on the January 22 episode of WWE Raw this coming Monday.
Seth Rollins walked out of his match with Mahal with a legitimate injury to his left leg, but as of now, there haven’t been any further updates on the severity of the issue.
