There has been an update on CM Punk’s significant injury and WrestleMania 40 status following the Royal Rumble.

It was reported earlier today that CM Punk had suffered a ‘significant injury’ during his appearance in the 2024 Royal Rumble match.
The nature of the injury had not been confirmed, though it was believed to have been a torn triceps much like he suffered at All Out in 2022.

In an update from PWInsider, they confirmed that Punk had torn his triceps during the Royal Rumble match and is believed to be heading towards surgery after an appearance on tonight’s Raw in Tampa.
The belief among those in the company is that, post-surgery, Punk would need in the area of 4-6 months of recovery and physical therapy, which would put him out of WrestleMania if correct, and he would likely not return until the summer if he gets surgery within the next week.

The injury is believed to have happened after taking a DDT from Drew McIntyre, when Punk rolled out of the ring holding his left arm following the spot.
The torn triceps Punk suffered at All Out in 2022 was on his right arm, which would make this a new injury, not a reoccurrence of his previous one.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is also currently injured, though he is believed to be ready to go for WrestleMania in April.
