Former WWE Champion John Cena has addressed his in-ring future, revealing when he plans to retire from wrestling.

While John Cena currently appears for WWE on a part-time basis, the 16-time world champion teased his retirement numerous times during his most recent run with the company.
Speaking on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Cena noted that he doesn’t want to wrestle past 50 years old. Cena is currently 46 years old and will turn 47 in April.

Cena noted:
“You know what, 50 is my absolute line in the sand. I would like to try and do it before that, but at 50, I’m just gonna tweet out, ‘Peace out, see ya.’ That’s it, I’m good.
“I was very much driven where WWE was my passion 24/7 — and I’m very grateful — but I’ve grown and there’s a lot of other avenues I’m curious about in life, being a great husband and partner is one of those.
“I just want to try do what I can in those (years).”

John Cena most recently wrestled in November 2023, losing to Solo Sikoa at the Crown Jewel premium live event.
This match ended Cena’s WWE run, which saw him return to WWE on an almost full-time basis during the Hollywood strikes.
