A WWE name has addressed criticisms about The Rock, and claims that the Final Boss has taken other stars’ spots.

The Rock had a big presence at WrestleMania 40, teaming with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the first night of action.
The Final Boss also appeared during the WrestleMania 40 Night Two main event, where he was chokeslammed by The Undertaker ahead of Rhodes pinning Reigns to win the WWE Undisputed Universal Title.
The Rock appeared regularly on WWE TV ahead of WrestleMania, with the popular star often part of long promo segments.
Speaking on the Behind the Turnbuckle podcast, WWE producer “Hurricane” Shane Helms addressed the idea that The Rock had taken someone’s spot on the road to WrestleMania.

Noting that The Rock has earned his spot, Helms said:
“Well, first of all, The Rock ain’t taking nobody’s spot. The Rock’s spot is solidified. If he wants to show up, that’s his spot. That’s just how it’s gonna be, and people have to recognize that. That’s the same in any form of entertainment.
“You go to a comedy club. If Dave Chappelle shows up, somebody might get bumped. That’s just how it’s gonna be. That’s just how it is. When you got the level…stars have gravity. That’s why they’re stars. Nice little metaphor there.
“And when you got the kinda gravity that The Rock has, that’s gonna bring in these outside eyes and attention that he brings in, man. That’s just part of the game and you gotta learn to accept that. As far as Rock being a heel, I loved it. It was something that I was kind of hoping for anyway.”

The Rock already has an opponent pencilled in for WrestleMania 41, for details on WWE’s plans for The Rock at next year’s event, click here.
