On tonight’s WWE Raw there was an update regarding which brand CM Punk would be appearing on moving forward.
It had already been outlined that Punk was a “free agent” on the roster, but that might not be the case for long.
On commentary during tonight’s December 4 show, Michael Cole made a reference to the fact that Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis will be looking to sign Punk.
This was shortly followed by an official WWE tweet asking fans which brand they’d rather see CM Punk on.
All of this would appear to suggest that, while Punk is a free agent at the moment, at some point in the near future, he’ll be exclusive to either Raw or SmackDown – or at least that’s the message WWE is sending out to fans.
With CM Punk making his first appearance on WWE television on Raw last week, he is set for his second on a special edition this Friday.
Set to appear on WWE SmackDown ‘Tribute to the Troops’, CM Punk will make his first appearance on SmackDown since 2014 on December 8.
CM Punk will address fans live in Providence, R.I. at the Amica Mutual Pavilion as he continues his return to WWE tour.
Also set for Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Bobby Lashley taking on Karrion Kross, and Dragon Lee taking on Santos Escobar as the tournament to determine who will face Logan Paul for the United States Championship kicks off.
Also on that show, Charlotte Flair is set for a match against Asuka.
