Current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns reportedly suffered an injury during the Tribal Combat main event at SummerSlam last weekend.

The injury reportedly happened early in the match, though the exact severity of the injury has not yet been diagnosed.
In an update from Fightful Select, Reigns was injured during the match, but he is still planned to appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Reigns is scheduled to appear on the show following Jimmy Uso’s betrayal of Jey Uso at SummerSlam, where Jimmy is expected to ‘hail to the chief’.
After SummerSlam, the word came out that Roman was not advertised for any WWE television episodes over the next few months, but Fightful confirmed that he was planned for this week’s SmackDown, and that as of now, there aren’t any plans for him to miss his internally scheduled appearances.

WWE has yet to respond to Fightful’s official inquiries regarding Reigns, but reiterated that the injury happened early on in the match.
There were those who would likely be in the know in a creative capacity for SmackDown who had not heard about Reigns’ injury until the initial reports emerged on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday afternoon, it had not changed any creative.
