Here’s what happened with The Rock and Roman Reigns following their staredown in the closing moments of SmackDown.

Roman Reigns was confronted by Cody Rhodes on the February 2 show. While many fans expected the Royal Rumble winner to reveal that he will be challenging for Reign’s WWE Undisputed Universal Title, the American Nightmare stepped aside for The Rock.
The Hollywood star entered the ring met Roman Reigns in the middle of the ring. The show went off the air with The Rock and Reigns locked in a staredown, seemingly revealing the main event of WrestleMania 40.

After the cameras stopped rolling, the duo continued the staredown before Reigns left the ring.
After Reigns made his way to the back, The Rock called for a microphone to address the WWE crowd.
You can watch a video of this moment below.

During his promo, The Rock said:
“Well, it’s become very clear and evident to The Rock that when you want to create something iconic, and when you want to create something magical, you come to the Magic City.
“This is a city deep in history, and ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I’m happy to tell you that tonight, all of us, tonight we made history here in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham, I thank you. I love you. If you smell what The Rock is cooking.”

While The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania hasn’t been confirmed by WWE, another title match was officially announced for the April 6-7 event.
