On tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, former AEW star Shawn Spears made a surprise return as he hit a current star with a steel chair.

In the middle of in-ring segment featuring Lyra Valkyria informing Tatum Paxley that she had finagled the pair a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match against the Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane and Asuka) on next week’s show, they were interrupted.
Ridge Holland interrupted Valkyria and Paxley’s celebratory moment in order to take over the ring and hop on the microphone himself.
However, Holland’s segment wouldn’t end up being just about his recent violent outburst towards Gallus as a big NXT mystery was solved.

After the lights turned off and the screens filled with white text – the same as the recent “three faces” teases – a shrouded figure was seen before he hit Ridge Holland with a chair to stand tall.
It was Shawn Spears, joining the likes of CM Punk and Cody Rhodes making a return to WWE after a foray to AEW.
Commentary did repeatedly call him Shawn Spears, the name he used in AEW, not his former WWE name Tye Dillinger.

We’ll keep you posted with any follow-up news that emerges regarding Spears’ WWE return.
Elsewhere on tonight’s show, another star has seemingly cemented their heel turn as they rallied against a handful of babyfaces backstage, calling them all ‘losers’.
