Tonight’s SmackDown has revealed a change for tomorrow night’s WWE Survivor Series 2023 premium live event.

Carlito appeared on tonight’s SmackDown and had harsh words for his scheduled Survivor Series opponent Santos Escobar after Escobar’s recent attacks on Rey Mysterio and the other members of the LWO.
Escobar then came out and continued to blame Carlito for the chaos within the LWO, noting that they were Escobar’s family first before Carlito joined them.
When the argument turned physical, at first it seemed that they had been successfully pulled apart.

However when Santos actually popped back, jumping over the barricade through the fans to attack Carlito, his Survivor Series opponent was seemingly down, with concern for his ability to compete at the premium live event.
Selling an injury to his knee, Carlito was shown after the commercial break limping to the backstage area with Escobar attacking him again.
However, Dragon Lee intervened to stop a further attack of Carlito and chased off Escobar after the pair exchanged blows.

After another commercial break, Nick Aldis revealed that Carlito was unable to be cleared to compete as Dragon Lee appeared and asked to substitute in.
Dragon Lee asked Aldis for the opportunity to fight Santos Escobar, and the match change was made official – at Survivor Series, it’s now Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar.
