It now seems we have an answer to the big question about CM Punk and Seth Rollins coming out of WWE Survivor Series 2023.

As CM Punk made his return, footage went viral of an irate Rollins screaming at ringside and giving Punk the middle finger.
The big question on everyone’s mind having seen that was whether it was Rollins’ legitimate reaction, or if it was part of a planned storyline.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the situation was “100% an angle”, which means it was indeed planned.

Meltzer said:
“As far as the Seth thing goes, that was all an angle.
“That was 100% an angle. Playing off the fact that months ago, when somebody asked Seth Rollins, it’s like ‘He’s a cancer, we don’t want him’, which later by the way, he said if the company wants him and it’s the right thing, he doesn’t have a problem with it.
“But because he made that statement, they figured they could do a ‘shoot angle’ with it and it makes sense.”

Another WWE star who may have had an issue with Punk’s return was Drew McIntyre who “stormed out” of the venue.
It’s not absolutely confirmed that’s why McIntyre left in the way he did, but people in WWE believe that’s the case. He was “legitimately upset about something”.
