Injuries are an unfortunate inevitability in pro wrestling, with many wrestlers getting hurt on simple moves that went wrong.

One such instance was at SummerSlam last year, when Becky Lynch suffered a separated shoulder during her Raw Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair.
Speaking with Cosmopolitan UK, Becky recalled the injury after taking the Glam Slam from Bianca, which led to her missing four months of action.

She said:
“The worst move that went wrong in the ring was at my expense. It was a Glam Slam from Bianca Belair onto me last SummerSlam. I ended up separating my shoulder, and I was out for four months. So that would probably be the worst, which, touch wood, we’re doing well.”

Becky continued on, discussing her returning from the injury, and how it was more of a mental challenge than a physical challenge.
She said:
“Coming back from an injury was more mental than physical because I hadn’t ever had an injury when I was in WWE that took me out for a substantial amount of time, and now I was out for four months.
“Especially when it initially happened, I had trouble picking up my daughter, and she didn’t understand what was going on. So it kind of messed with my head a little bit in terms of, ‘I don’t want to get hurt,’ and so for the first time ever in my career, I was scared of getting hurt, and I’d never had that before. So, trying to figure out how to overcome that was a bit of an adjustment.”

Becky is seemingly set for a clash with Trish Stratus at SummerSlam in Detroit next month.
