An interesting change has been made to a top title match advertised for the upcoming SmackDown taping in Madison Square Garden.

WWE will visit the world-famous arena in New York on Friday (July 7) for a special taping, with the live broadcast of SmackDown to emanage from MSG.
In early June it was announced that Rollins would be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest at the taping.
This has now been changed, with Madison Square Garden no longer advertising this bout for the show.

Instead, the MSG website is now advertising a Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor singles match.
While there has been no clarification on whether or not this bout will be televised, it is likely that this will be a dark match, just for the fans in the arena.
This all comes after Damian Priest won the Money in the Bank ladder match at the July 1, entitling Priest to a title match at a time of his choosing.

It has been speculated that this match has been changed so that the world champion and Mr Money in the Bank won’t clash, ahead of Priest eventually cashing in on whichever champion he chooses.
Many fans have also predicted that Priest will cash in on Rollins, with the duo previously facing off in a competitive match on the June 5 edition of Raw.
Balor previously challenged for Rollins’ gold at Money in the Bank 2023, with a miscommunication between Balor and Priest leading to Rollins retaining the title.
