An update has emerged on WWE’s plans for the return of former world champion Randy Orton, ahead of Survivor Series 2023.
While Orton has been out of action for over a year, recovering from a back injury, rumors have been swirling regarding the Viper’s potential WWE return after he was spotted at the Performance Center in September.
It was previously reported that Orton and WWE are targeting for him to return by Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago.
In a new update from WrestleVotes, new merchandise and branding for Orton have been approved, which would indicate that Orton’s WWE comeback is imminent.
Noting that WWE plans to present a ‘large social media promotion’ for his comeback, WrestleVotes tweeted:
Regarding the Randy Orton return rumors, source states new merchandise & branding has been approved. Also, WWE will present a large social media promotion / digital material for the comeback. It’s indeed happening. Likely Survivor Series or that weekend.

Orton last wrestled on the May 20, 2022 edition of SmackDown, teaming with the recently released Matt Riddle in a losing effort against The Usos, in a Raw & SmackDown tag-team title unification bout.
Survivor Series 2023 will emanate from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois on November 25.
