Shelton Benjamin has sent a message to fans on social media telling them to talk about Bayley ahead of WrestleMania 40.

Bayley won the women’s Royal Rumble match, a fact that wasn’t lost on the currently injured CM Punk after she was left off the WrestleMania 40 poster.
Benjamin has also shared his opinion on the focus being elsewhere for WrestleMania on the Black Rasslin’ Podcast, saying:

“This is to all social media. You need to be talking about Bayley a whole lot more,” Shelton Benjamin said. “Don’t get me wrong, everyone’s hot on The Rock and Cody and ‘finish the story.’ But at the same time, I say, like CM Punk said, Bayley won the Royal Rumble, and all anyone is talking about is Cody’s story.
“Give Bayley her flowers. I think she’s one of the most underrated girls on the roster. I feel like she’s underrated and underappreciated by the company, but not by the talent. We recognize what she is. Bayley should be world champion come April. That’s my personal opinion.”

With the issues within Damage CTRL seeing a fracturing of the faction, IYO SKY will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Bayley at WrestleMania 40 on April 6 & 7, 2024.
Her choice of opponent was revealed on the February 2, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown after she confronted SKY, Asuka and Kairi Sane about how they’ve been treating her, as can be seen below.
Bayley has also clarified who she will be calling “idiots” now that she has turned babyface in WWE programming.

She signed with WWE in December 2012 and is the first female Grand Slam Champion in the company having held all the major women’s titles, including the NXT Women’s Championship.
Shelton Benjamin was released by WWE in September 2023 and has recently been announced to face former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander on May 16 at Prestige Wrestling.
