An update has emerged on WWE plans for William Regal moving forward amid speculation about Regal’s full-time TV return.

When Regal returned to WWE in January 2023, it was reported that a clause in his previous AEW contract meant that he couldn’t appear on WWE TV for one year.
The Vice President of Global Talent Development has made a few WWE TV appearances following his first year back with WWE, notably appointing Ava as the new NXT General Manager on January 23, 2024.

There have been some rumors swirling about Regal potentially returning to WWE TV full time following his recent appearances.
Per Fightful Select, WWE has no plans to use William Regal in a full time on-screen role in the near future. This was reportedly correct as of the most recent (February 27) NXT taping.

William Regal’s son Charlie Dempsey recently won his first WWE title, defeating Noam Dar for the NXT Heritage Cup on the February 27 NXT show.
Dempsey’s No Quarter Catch Crew teammate Drew Gulak recently confirmed that he had a major role in creating the story modes for WWE 2K24.
