A popular WWE star has now signed a new long-term deal with the company ahead of their expiration early next year.
At SummerSlam, LA Knight captured his first official championship in WWE, defeating Logan Paul to win the United States Championship.
Knight originally moved up to the main roster in the Spring of 2022 as Max Dupri, and it was reported late last year that Knight was set to sign a new deal, with his original deal set to expire in early 2025.
However, it was reported by Fightful Select that the two sides were in negotiation, but were said to be far apart on money, and there has now been a significant update.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), there was no deal between the two for a number of months, but that has now changed over the Summer, with Fightful learning that LA Knight restructured and extended his WWE contract, with him said to have got a large increase in money, and will remain with the company for a number of years.
Knight’s original deal was set to run into early 2025, but Fightful was told that significant time was added to it, with Knight getting what was considered a much-deserved pay rise.
Knight has exceeded the expectations of many within WWE, but also gained praise for being willing to try other ideas WWE had for him along the way.
On the flip side, former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has yet to agree a new deal with the company, with his deal set to expire this weekend.
