Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has opened up on the differences between working on commentary on both the main roster and NXT.

The six-time world champion had performed in a commentary role numerous times since returning to WWE in 2011, firstly on SmackDown between 2011 and 2012 and later sporadically on Raw between 2015 and 2018.
After regularly appearing as an analyst for WWE pay-per-views, Booker rejoined the commentary fold in late 2022, joining Vic Joseph on NXT full-time.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Booker reflected on his past experience doing main roster commentary and how it compares to his current role on the gold brand.

Booker explained:
“When I was on Raw, when I was on Smackdown, everything had to be politically correct.
“I had something in my ear (Vince McMahon), sometimes you couldn’t be yourself, I find, myself in NXT, like I am here in Reality of Wrestling, I’m throwing my clipboard but I’m having fun at the same time.
“NXT I can go and be serious but then I can talk about a couple of ‘hottie biscottis’, ‘shucky ducky quack quack’ – it’s all about having balance and trying to think about one thing first and foremost and that’s the young guys, the talent, trying to put a spotlight on those guys and hopefully give them the rub.”

With Booker’s first-hand view of WWE’s stars of tomorrow, it’s natural that he will have a few personal picks for later success in WWE.
