WWE Raw started tonight (January 22) with Seth Rollins addressing the real-life injury he sustained on last week’s show.

Rollins suffered a torn MCL and Meniscus during his match against Jinder Mahal, in which he retained the World Heavyweight Championship.
Tonight, Rollins explained that he ‘felt his knee go in, in a way that it isn’t really supposed to,’ and when he sat down backstage after the match, ‘it really set in’.
Feeling like he could maybe be out for a long time, he was disappointed in having made the statement earlier that every title defense he got stronger.
Saying that he even feared that he would miss WrestleMania, the crowd reacted strongly, including a ‘No!’ chant.

Confirming that he has a ‘grade 2 tear of his MCL, a partially torn menial meniscus’, with surgery he would be looking at between three and four months out.
However, Rollins would reveal that he was poised to do anything it takes to rehab as hard as possible and he would be ready for WrestleMania 40, no matter what the doctors say.
After saying that, he was interrupted by Gunther and Imperium with the Intercontinental Champion poised to tell Rollins ‘what he really thinks of him’.

Overall, Gunther was relatively complimentary of Rollins, eventually informing him that he was planning to win Royal Rumble and choose Rollins as his opponent for WrestleMania 40.
The two then shook hands, so the story is that Rollins was adamant he’ll be ready to return by WrestleMania, he is NOT vacating his championship, and a match between him and Gunther was heavily teased
