AEW announced the termination of CM Punk’s contract with cause last Saturday (September 2).

The termination came following an investigation into the backstage incident involving Punk at AEW All In.
This was not Punk’s first altercation backstage, with the first publicly known major issue happening at All Out in 2022, when Punk and Ace Steel were involved in a fight with the Elite.
Steel was released from the company following the initial incident last year, but was rehired ahead of Punk’s return on the debut episode of Collision back in June.
The situation actually caused a delay in Punk’s return being announced because Tony Khan had decided Steel would only be able to work remotely rather than be present backstage at shows, which Punk wasn’t happy about.

Steel had indeed been working remotely, but with Punk now out of the picture, many have wondered about Steel’s status.
In an update from PWInsider, in the wake of Punk’s departure, Ace Steel has once again been released by AEW earlier today (September 7).
According to PWInsider, there had been talk of AEW opening a facility in Florida specifically for Steel to train some talents, but obviously that won’t be happening now.

Jack Perry was suspended in the fallout of the incident at All In at Wembley Stadium, and hasn’t been at any AEW shows since.
Khan opened up last week’s Collision with the announcement that Punk had been terminated, saying he felt his life had been put in danger.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
