Scrapped plans that would have seen a former WWE star make his AEW debut on two separate occasions have been revealed.

Former WWE star Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno) was released from the company back in 2020, and has only making his in-ring return since then last month in Los Angeles.
Hero seemed like a natural fit for either AEW or Ring of Honor, but is yet to make an in-ring appearance for either promotion, only working backstage as an agent for the company.

However, Hero was pitched to make his in-ring debut for AEW on two separate occasions, both of which were against the same opponent; Chris Jericho.
Speaking on Talk is Jericho, Hero revealed two pitched matches in AEW against Jericho that he rejected, the first being during the ‘Five Labors of Jericho’ during Jericho’s feud with MJF, and the other being a match with Jericho during his run as the ROH World Champion.

Hero said:
“How do you turn down an opportunity like that once, let alone twice? So it’s a little embarrassing on my behalf.”
