New General Manager of Monday Night Raw Adam Pearce has revealed his “mission statement” as he enters his second full week in charge of the red brand.
On last week’s special ‘Season Premiere’ edition of SmackDown (October 14) WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H officially appointed two distinct general managers of WWE’s two brands for the first time in years.
Former NWA and IMPACT World Champion Nick Aldis was appointed Smackdown GM and on Raw, Adam Pearce was chosen to lead Raw’s roster.
Pearce recently got the chance to address his recent appointment on WWE’s The Bump, where he was asked by the show’s host Megan Morant what his plan was in his new role on Monday nights.
Pearce said:
“The mission statement’s the same as it always has been Megan.
“If you work hard everyday and you treat people fairly everyday and you do those two things often enough for long enough you will earn respect.”
Pearce’s message drew the audible ire of SmackDown’s Austin Theory, who was also in attendance for the show, as Pearce continued his message:
“Now after four years I can see with Austin Theory, as he groans and mumbles I probably haven’t earned his respect or at least he won’t admit it publicly, but as the General Manager of Monday Night Raw I’m going to approach that broadcast like I have for four years and into the future with the same mentality.
“Work hard, treat people fairly earn respect and put the best damn product I can every Monday I can that is my pledge to you and the WWE Universe.”
While it was all respectful between Pearce and Aldis last week, as seen on last night’s SmackDown tensions have already began to rise between the two, with potential brand warfare perhaps on the cards.
