This week’s (October 10) episode of AEW Dynamite featured a surprising championship change.

On the show, Rey Fenix was intended to defend the AEW International Championship in a rematch with Jon Moxley, but Moxley was not cleared for action on the show.
Instead, Orange Cassidy faced Fenix, with Cassidy defeating him to recapture the International Championship.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), there were tentative plans within AEW to get the title back on Jon Moxley on the October 10 episode of the show.
However, on the day of the show, Moxley was not cleared, with Cassidy replacing him and going on to win the championship.

Although Cassidy was not considered for the title in the days or weeks prior to the show, Fightful notes that whoever would have been booked against Fenix would have likely ended up winning the title.
Per those close to Fenix, he is facing Visa issues that will see him be out of action on AEW television.
It is not known how long he would be out of action, but the decision was made to move the International Championship off of him that was never set to be on him to begin with.
