An update has emerged on the status of Sammy Guevara ahead of this week’s (October 18) edition of AEW Dynamite.

Guevara was initially set to team with Konosuke Takeshita to face Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega on the October 4 edition of Dynamite, however Kyle Fletcher ended up replacing Guevara as he wasn’t medically cleared to wrestle.
It was later revealed that Guevara suffered a concussion at the October 1 WrestleDream pay-per-view.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Guevara is hoping to be cleared ahead of this Wednesday’s October 18 Dynamite taping.

Noting that the likeliness of this is unclear, Meltzer said:
“I know he wants to be ready Wednesday. I don’t know if it will happen.
“He had a setback but overall he was doing well recovering from the concussion at the last pay-per-view.
“He should be back relatively soon, at least that’s the hope.

“Because Wednesday’s show, this coming Wednesday, is right out of Houston and that’s where he’s from so he really wanted to be on the show.
“But I don’t know that he’s gonna be on the show. If he’s not on the show you know he’s not cleared, if he is on the show then obviously he’s cleared, and with concussions you don’t know.
“He’s gunning for it, but I don’t know what the odds are that that’s gonna happen.”

At WrestleDream, Guevara teamed with Takeshita and Will Ospreay to defeat Jericho, Omega & Kota Ibushi.
