With the second AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event set to take place at the end of the month, there has been speculation about names who could be involved in the show.

It was reported yesterday that AEW had reached out to Mercedes Mone for an appearance on the show, which now looks to not be happening following her injury at NJPW Resurgence.
Along with Mercedes though, there has been speculation about whether or not the Stardom promotion would also feature on this year’s Forbidden Door event.
Stardom is also owned by Bushiroad, the company that owns NJPW, and serves as NJPW’s sister promotion, and there has been some discussion in that regard.
Per Fightful Select, there has been conversations between AEW and Stardom regarding the possibility of Stardom talent being a part of this year’s Forbidden Door show.

Those that Fightful had spoken to from both sides indicated that there has been some hurdles, but specifically mentioned that Toni Storm was suggested as an opponent for a Stardom talent to face off against.
One of the main talking points is which of the Stardom talent would be available, as the company has their own show taking place that weekend which features most of the company’s top stars.
However, there have still been discussions as to how to make it work, with it being indicated to Fightful that it is something AEW is hoping to make happen if they can.

The report notes that there were also conversations with Stardom in 2022 for a similar booking, but Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa ended up facing off on the show.
There are currently two matches confirmed for Forbidden Door, those being a Wrestle Kingdom rematch between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay, as well as a dream match between Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada.
