After making her surprise debut with the company at All Out 2023 (September 3), AEW appears to have teased future plans for CJ Perry.

In a backstage interview with Lexy Nair on the September 23 edition of AEW Collision (see below), The former WWE star was interestingly not referred to by her full name and instead was introduced as ‘CJ’, suggesting that this will be her AEW name going forward rather than CJ Perry.
When CJ’s husband Miro interrupted the interview, it was then revealed by the former ‘Lana’ that she will take up a managerial role on AEW TV rather than compete in the ring, similarly to how she began her time in WWE.
Interestingly however, she will not be standing in her husband Miro’s corner, who has not been thrilled about CJ’s AEW appearances.
After Miro alluded to needing to save his wife, now that she’s back involved in wrestling, CJ instead suggested that they go their separate paths in AEW, which includes CJ managing other “clients” not including her husband.

CJ said:

With Miro primarily competing on AEW Collision, it remains to be seen whether CJ’s managerial run will see her also appear on Saturdays exclusively.
Following CJ’s AEW debut at All Out, Tony Khan stated that the 38-year-old was not under a long-term guarantee with the company, so it also remains to be seen how her time in the company will play out.
