Tony Khan addresses new AEW partnership

Tony Khan has responded to the partnership between AEW and CMLL that will bring Mistico vs Rocky Romero to Rampage On October 20, 2023.

The former WWE star, where he performed as the original Sin Cara, will make his AEW debut on this evening’s Rampage as the CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion going up against the CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion Rocky Romero.
Earlier, it was reported that AEW were internally happy with Mistico and the boost that he brought to ticket sales for Wednesday’s Dynamite where the match was taped.

Tony Khan has also expressed his thanks to CMLL on social media, posting:

His post came as a reply to a statement about the partnership from CMLL, reading:
“CMLL gives our sincerest thanks to Tony Khan & AEW for the attention given to our talent & our general director Salvador Lutheroth in the Tapings for “AEW Rampage” that took place yesterday in Rosenberg, Texas.
“We wish to reiterate firmly that the collaboration between CMLL & AEW will be fruity & beneficial to both parties, and that it will be the start of a solid relationship. The opportunity to show our talent on an international stage like AEW Rampage has been an honor & a privilege for us.
“We are grateful for the welcoming reception that the AEW fans gave during the one-on-one bout that Mistico & Rocky Romero had, which will be aired on October 20 on TNT at 10/9c.”

CMLL continue to make their presence felt in the United States, with this weekend’s Denver Broncos vs Green Bay Packers NFL fixture bringing wrestling action thanks to a partnership between the Broncos and CMLL.
