AEW World Champion MJF has confirmed that he had a major role for the upcoming Von Erich movie, following A24 sharing a new poster for the movie.
With the wrestling biopic movie ‘The Iron Claw’ set for a December 22 release, A24 has been sharing more promotional material for the highly anticipated movie.
While the new poster for the film features Zac Efron front and center, it’s the poster’s fine print that has had wrestling fans talking, with AEW’s MJF appearing to be listed as an executive producer.
While it was previously known that MJF was starring in the movie, the AEW World Champion has now confirmed that he is indeed serving as an executive producer for the upcoming release.
MJF shared a heartfelt message on Twitter, writing:

Executive producer for an A24 movie and a masterpiece by Sean Durkin.
Proud is an understatement.
However I don’t have time to celebrate.
I’m a man on an island surrounded by the enemy, and Nov 18th will be my hardest obstacle yet.
Let’s go. #Betterthanyou pic.twitter.com/8j6PcwmV5S
In addition to his executive producer role, MJF will star in the movie as Lance Von Erich.
Zac Efron, who leads as Kevin Von Erich, will star alongside Jeremy Allen White, who will play Kerry Von Erich.
The Iron Claw’s December 22 release date may indicate that A24 believes that it will be an awards contender, with the movie dropping in prime awards season, when studios tend to drop movies that they believe will be in contention for major awards like the Oscars.
Ahead of then, MJF will defend his AEW World Championship against Jay White at the November 18 AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view.´
