With AEW set to launch it’s new Saturday Night Collision show tonight (June 17), fans have been speculating about any potential surprises for the show.

We already know the show will feature the return of CM Punk, with him set to team with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to face Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe in the show’s main event.
The show will also feature the returns of Miro and Andrade El Idolo, and we now know a very interesting name that is set to be backstage at tonight’s show.
Per Fightful Select, Chris Hero is being looked at as a potential name to join AEW, at least in a backstage capacity.

The report notes that Hero is in town and is scheduled to be backstage at tonight’s AEW Collision debut in Chicago tonight, with him set to work with the company on a trial basis.
Hero has not wrestled a match since he was released from WWE back in 2020, though he recently said in an interview that he is not retired, and is waiting for the right situation to occur.

It is not known if there are plans for Hero to wrestle for AEW, but he obviously has a lot of history with many on the AEW roster.
A new segment has been announced for tonight’s debut, which you can see here.
