Tony Khan calls decision about AEW Collision a 'really big deal'

AEW fans now get to listen to one of Elton John’s most iconic songs during the opening of the promotion’s new Saturday show.
Speaking with Busted Open Radio, Khan called the use of this song a big deal, noting that he thought it’d be the perfect song for Collision.

Khan said:
“It was the perfect fit for the show, I really wanted to get it, I love working with pro wrestling music rights.
“One thing we’ve done in AEW is bring a lot of awesome music into the world of pro wrestling on a weekly basis, you hear some legendary bands and songs every week on Dynamite.
“Now on AEW Collision, very fitting to have this amazing anthem, Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” as the official theme song of Collision.

It’s a really big deal, and I’m very excited about this great opening theme we were able to get, and people seem to love the show open.
“It felt to me it would be the perfect song, and I really enjoy working on those kinds of things.”

Several AEW talents have licensed songs for entrance themes, with Orange Cassidy notably entering arenas to Jefferson Starship’s Jane, and The Elite walking out to Kansas’ Carry On Wayward Son.
Bryan Danielson surprised fans at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door by bringing back ‘Final Countdown’ as his entrance theme.
Tony Khan has since clarified that the use of this song was a one-off.
