The October 7 episode of WWE Raw saw Xavier Woods take on Jey Uso in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.
Woods would be unsuccessful in his quest for singles gold and went on to not acknowledge Uso’s show of respect.
As can be seen in the highlights below this news story, Bron Breakker would also make his presence felt, attacking Uso, Xavier and Kofi Kingston.
Backstage, the New Day members shared their thoughts on what had happened out on WWE Raw with Kingston asking why Woods didn’t shake Uso’s hand or held during the attack.
Woods would explain that he’s “tired” that it’s always on him to do things like that, as can be seen below this news story, saying:
“I’m tired of it always being on me. It’s always gonna be on me.
“First, I gotta go out there, I lose to Jey Uso. A match for the Intercontinental Championship. Then, I gotta get up, shake his hand, and thank him for the match?
“Then on top of that, I gotta go in the ring and make sure that he doesn’t get his ass kicked? When is it not on me anymore, man?”
Kingston would try to help Woods see sense, saying he knew his partner was upset but Uso is his friend.
With Kingston noting that, if Uso was in Woods’s place, things would have been different, the New Day member went on to state:
“Yeah, but I also remember you saying that I was the QB. I call the play, and you run it. But that just hasn’t been happening so far, has it?
“I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know.”
Tensions have been running high within The New Day for quite some time now thanks, in part, to the machinations of Karrion Kross.
On the September 30 WWE Raw, Woods picked up a victory over Rey Mysterio after ‘inadvertently’ removing his mask.
This led to a backstage confrontation between the pair with footage shared on social media by WWE.
