The main event of night two of WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles this year saw Cody Rhodes fail to take the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns.
Roman came out on top during the match, preventing Cody from finishing the story, and WrestleMania 39 was not to be his night, though it may have never intended to be.
Many fans believed that the play in Hollywood would see Roman Reigns defend the title against The Rock, and it turns out that may have originally been the plan.
The Rock was a guest on the Pat McAfee Show today, where he spoke about WrestleMania.
The Rock revealed that a match between him and Roman was ‘locked in’ at one point for this year’s event in Hollywood.
The Rock also noted that he would be open to appearing at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia next year.
