AEW star Jeff Jarrett was asked about Double or Nothing running against NXT’s premium live event and he wasn’t phased.

In fact, Jarrett took the opportunity to share some valuable career wisdom rather than delve into any particularly tribalistic comments.
Speaking to Adrian Hernandez for The Bet Las Vegas,  Jeff Jarrett explained why he only ever worries about competing with himself.

Ahead of a big match teaming with Jay Lethal to take on Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, the AEW Tag Team Champions FTR for the titles at AEW Double or Nothing, professional wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett had some sage wisdom.
When asked about AEW Double or Nothing on pay-per-view running opposite of the WWE premium live event, NXT Battleground on Peacock, Jarrett had thoughts!
Jarrett shared his ‘number one mindset’ which he believes contributes to his success: ignoring the competition.

Jeff Jarrett said:
“At the end of the day, the longevity of my business, I found out real early in my career, and to this day, I compete against myself. That is my number one mindset. I want to be better than I was yesterday.
“If you compete against yourself day in and day out, that’s the real barometer. You cannot control anything outside of that. You may think you can, you may think you can compete against other talent or other companies or other matches, at the end of the day, the only thing that you can really control, your destiny, is competing against yourself, and that’s what I do day in and day out.”

Jeff Jarrett continues to compete with himself as his career has experienced massive heights and longevity, continuing to feature in prominent matches on pay-per-view despite decades in the industry.
The 55 year old Jarrett will look to win another championship this Sunday on pay-per-view at AEW Double or Nothing.
