Adam Copeland has weighed in on AEW’s acquisition of Mercedes Mone following her recent debut for the company.

Tonight’s AEW Dynamite (March 20), from Toronto, CN, looks to follow up last week’s headline-making Big Business event (March 13) which saw the long-awaited debut of Mercedes Mone.
Mone wrapped up a trio of major free agent signings in recent months, with Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada also joining the company, despite reported interest from WWE.
Prior to those three arrivals, it was Adam Copeland who made headlines by jumping to AEW, a move which brought his 25-year association with WWE to an end.

Given Mone’s highly successfully ten year run in WWE, her move is something Copeland can heavily relate to, and unsurprisingly became a topic of discussion in a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.
Copeland made the comparison to his own move from WWE to AEW, discussing all the new possibilities that it presents Mone.

Copeland said:
”For her, AEW is a blank canvas with a brand new palette of paint.
“For me, it was the same. I saw Swerve, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Claudio, FTR, all these names I’ve never crossed paths with.
“It’s the same with Mercedes–think of how much fun she’s going to have here. Think of all the new opponents.
“I think it’s super exciting. I love that AEW is here to bring a different product to the industry. Now there’s Okada, Ospreay, Mercedes, plus all of us already here, and that makes one hell of a roster.”

Fans will have a lot to look forward to on tonight’s Dynamite, not only with the expected culmination of Copeland and Christian Cage’s long-running feud in an I Quit match for the TNT Championship, but also a Continental Title match between Eddie Kingston and Kazuchika Okada.
As well as these matches, we can expect to hear from Mone where we may get a further idea of her AEW creative direction.
