AEW star Billy Gunn has addressed his potential retirement, naming the star he wants to wrestle in his retirement match.

Despite initially teasing his retirement in July 2023 ahead of All In, Billy Gunn is still an active competitor on the AEW roster.
The 60 year old WWE Hall of Famer has thought about hanging his boots up for good, and knows the competitor he wants to face in his final match.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Gunn noted that he often tells people that Will Ospreay is his dream retirement match opponent.

Praising the AEW International Champion, he explained:
“I don’t know what it is about that kid. I love him, I tell everybody that’s my retirement match. When I retire it’s me and Will, and he just said on some media scrum that he’s in AEW to retire me.
“(I love it) Because his work really isn’t me, it’s so opposite of me. But I love him, he’s good, he’s very energetic. Just the stuff he does is amazing. He’s so athletic and could do so much stuff. But he has charisma with it and he’s very good at that. I love that, I don’t know, I just love that kid.”

Despite knowing that he wants Ospreay to be his final opponent, Gunn went on to note that he still feels he’s bringing value to AEW’s product.
