An update has emerged on CM Punk following his absence from the official announcement of AEW Collision.

AEW Collision was officially announced during the Warner Bros Discovery Upfront presentation on Wednesday (May 17).
The announcement confirmed previous reports that the show will air on Saturdays following its premiere on June 17.
Interestingly, the announcement featured no mention of CM Punk, despite previous reports indicating that he will be a top star of the brand.

It had been reported that Punk will make his return on the debut episode of Collision, which will air from the United Center in Chicago.
Per PWInsider, the belief among AEW sources as late as this weekend was that Punk would be one of the main forces both onscreen and backstage for Collision.
While Punk’s absence from the Upfront and announcement indicates that this is not the case, AEW has been advertising that Tony Khan will make a big announcement on Dynamite, so it is possible that Punk’s involvement in Collision will be discussed on Wednesday’s show.
It is also worth remembering that CM Punk was never explicitly advertised for his first AEW show, Rampage: The First Dance.

While it was heavily rumored that Punk would be at this August 2021 show, which also aired from the United Center, AEW didn’t announce Punk for the show ahead of time.
It is possible that AEW plans to pull a similar stunt with Punk’s return and make it the worst kept secret in wrestling.
AEW has shared a list of five ‘headliners’ who will feature on Collision, which you can read more about right here.
