When The Rock is set to begin filming his next movie following his WWE return and WrestleMania 40 match has been revealed.
The Rock made his WWE return back on the Day 1 special episode of Raw, where he laid out Jinder Mahal and teased a future encounter with Roman Reigns.
The Rock returned full time back on the February 2 episode of SmackDown, where he seemingly stepped in for Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
Now a heel, The Rock has appeared on most episodes of SmackDown since his turn, including being advertised for this week’s episode.
Rock is still obviously one of the biggest movie stars in the world, with his next movie set to be the Smashing Machine film adaptation based on former UFC fighter Mark Kerr.
Per PWInsider, the casting is currently underway for a number of the movie’s supporting characters, which is set to film from May 1 through August 1, which would likely take Rock out of any physical appearances for WWE during that time.
It had previously been reported that WWE was hoping that Rock would wrestle at least one more match following WrestleMania 40 in 2024, likely at a Saudi Arabia event.
Rock is set to team with Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes on night one of WrestleMania 40.
