WWE King Of The Ring matches moved to live events update

Following the start of the tournament, a new report has provided an update on WWE moving King of the Ring matches to the live events.

On the May 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, WWE kicked off this year’s King & Queen of the Ring tournament with first round matches.
The show featured GUNTHER defeating Sheamus, Jey Uso picking up a win over Finn Balor and Ilja Dragunov getting a win over Ricochet in the King of the Ring.
Meanwhile, the Queen of the Ring saw IYO SKY beating Natalya, Zoey Stark advancing against Ivy Nile and Lyra Valkyria defeating Dakota Kai.
The company announced that the remaining tournament matches of Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio and Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega were moved to the WWE live events over the weekend.

Fightful Select provided an update, noting that the plan as of now is for highlights to be aired on next Monday’s May 13 episode of Raw and on social media.
The report notes that this plan could change or be adjusted depending on the circumstances.

It remains to be seen what the SmackDown end of the Queen of the Ring tournament looks like at the time of this writing.
WWE King and Queen of the Ring will take place on Saturday, May 25 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
