Ricochet competed in his home state of Kentucky on the September 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, and commented on his return following his match on this week’s show.

Last night’s AEW Dynamite saw Ricochet taking on Sammy Guevara, in what was the former three-time TNT Champion’s return to the Wednesday night show after a lengthy absence.
Highlights from the match can be seen below this news story with Ricochet beating the current ROH World Tag Team Champion.
In an AEW Exclusive, Ricochet reflected on his return to Kentucky and was greeted by some friends.

The video can be seen below this news story, with Ricochet saying:
“It feels so good to be back in Kentucky doing what I love to do on such a big stage. To be back…”

He would be interrupted by Mark Briscoe who was happy to see him only then realising filming was taking place.
We briefly also see Kyle O’Reilly who happily greets Ricochet with an all-too-brief embrace.
Next up would be Orange Cassidy who asked if Ricochet worked here with the recently signed star noting they were both in the AEW World Championship Number One Contendership Casino Gauntlet match with him at AEW All In on August 25.

Chuck Taylor would then make an appearance, with Ricochet talking about their history together, saying:
“That’s awesome. Chuck Taylor, bro. Literally my first day of training, he was there to help me out, and he’s been there basically my whole career.
“So to answer your question, it feels awesome to be here, All Elite Wrestling, where the best come to wrestle. Not only that, but I have so many friends in the back, it honestly feels like home to me, so I’m just ready for the future and what I got to do here at All Elite Wrestling.”

Aside from their early relationship, Ricochet and Taylor would go on to both team and compete against each other across the independent wrestling scene starting back in 2006.
Taylor had his last AEW match in April 2024, losing to Trent Beretta in a Parking Lot Match on Rampage.
After the match, it was reported that Taylor’s in-ring career could be at an end with the star wanting to the AEW Rampage as it could be his last.
Taylor has gone on to provide an update saying that he may be “hoping” but others have returned from “career-ending injuries”.
