A long-absent AEW star has clarified her current role with the company, seemingly suggesting an on-screen return is potentially coming.

Rebel, who frequently appeared alongside Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter on AEW programming, primarily in a managerial role, has been missing since Hayter and Baker both turned babyface at the start of 2023.
Despite becoming known as an on-screen talent Rebel was in fact brought on board with AEW as a part of the hair and make-up team initially in 2019.
Speaking to Taylor Wilde on the latest episode of Wilde On, Rebel revealed what her current role in the company is now and going forward:

Rebel said:
“I thought after I left IMPACT, I was like, you know what? Let’s try again and I started doing the hair and makeup and then got thrown in front of the camera again and at this point, I have now said, God, I hear you.
“I now know that your will for me is this.
“I’m going to accept it and quit fighting it and yeah, so I don’t do the hair and makeup anymore and just strictly on-camera talent and that’s what I plan to keep doing.
“I lost my passion for makeup and hair (she laughed).”

Despite her ongoing absence Rebel reiterated her enjoyment in AEW, saying:
“I’ve had a ball at AEW and it’s a lot of fun, and I had a lot of fun at IMPACT too so, yeah.”

With Jamie Hayter currently on the sidelines perhaps there is an opening for Rebel to return to Baker’s side in the near future, especially given the odds often stacked against her by The Outcasts (Toni Storm, Saraya & Ruby Soho).
Baker is set for a big match against Soho in the opening round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on this week’s Dynamite (June 28).
