An absent AEW star was backstage at last week’s AEW Collision show (October 14) after almost a year away.
Per Fightful Select, former NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb was backstage at the AEW Collision tapings on October 14.
Those that Fightful spoke to said that they haven’t seen Serena backstage at all this year, and the area wasn’t anywhere near where anywhere she would have just been visiting the show.
Serena last competed on the October 18 AEW Dark: Elevation tapings, when she defeated Hollyhood Haley J.
Since that match, Serena has not been used on AEW television, factored in creatively or been present backstage, though she recently reappeared at the Cauliflower Alley Club.
Two different reasons have been given for Serena’s absence from the company, as Fightful was told that she had a ‘significant disagreement’ with AEW management last year.
However, Deeb herself has also told several other people that she has been sidelined with a rough injury this year.
It has not been reported yet if Deeb is backstage at tonight’s (October 18) AEW Dynamite taping.
