It was originally noted that tentative AEW plans for Mercedes were no longer in place, with speculation that she could be set for a WWE return.'
Since then, WWE sources have noted that talks between her and the company have fallen through, and that she was expected by many within the industry to be AEW-bound.
Taking to Instagram amid the speculation, Mercedes teased that this year was ‘gonna be fun’, attached with a photo of herself seemingly crying after receiving some news.
Another major women’s free agent officially became All Elite last night, when Deonna Purrazzo announced that she had signed with the company.
