AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has commented on the possibility of crossover with WWE, following recent speculation.
While at one point, a WWE-TNA partnership seemed impossible, the two companies are now working together, with Jordynne Grace set to challenge for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT Battleground.
With rumors swirling about more talent swaps in the coming months, some have speculated that we could eventually see WWE and AEW working together.
Speaking on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Swerve Strickland noted that he believes that a partnership between WWE and AEW is more likely to happen now than ever before.
Believing that neither AEW or WWE are opposed to the idea, Strickland said:
“If there’s ever a time it could happen, now is more likely than it’s ever been. I don’t think either person (Tony Khan and Triple H) is opposed… I don’t think there’s ever been a time that’s more likely than now.”
AEW is currently preparing for its NJPW crossover pay-per-view Forbidden Door. At Forbidden Door, Strickland will defend his world title against International Champion Will Ospreay.
Strickland recently revealed his custom AEW World Championship grillz, which you can view right here.
