Current AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks believe Kazuchika Okada is a future AEW World Champion.
In March, Kazuchika Okada officially signed with All Elite Wrestling after 14 years with NJPW. He quickly aligned himself with his real life friends Matthew and Nicholas Jackson in The Elite.
Since then, Okada defeated Eddie Kingston to win the AEW Continental Championship and has held the title for the past six months.
In a new interview with Justin Barrasso, Matthew Jackson of The Young Bucks discussed Kazuchika Okada’s run in AEW so far and his belief that he will become a world champion in the company. He said:
“I feel like Okada is definitely a future world champion and it would elevate the title to new heights,”
“Nobody does big matches better than him. Nobody has more aura than him. If I need someone out there who has to follow a four-hour show, I’m sending Okada out there every time.”
Nicholas Jackson also praised Okada and talked about him raising the bar in the promotion. He said:
“There was one time we saw Okada yawn before a big match at the [Tokyo] Dome,”
“He’s the best, and he doesn’t get nervous for anything. It’s been so much fun working with him these last several months. There’s no one better.”
The Young Bucks are set to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher on the September 25 Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite.
