A big championship change has taken place at the AEW Dynasty 2024 Zero Hour pre-show.
Ahead of the nine match main card for AEW Dynasty a big title unification match took place between AEW Trio’s Champions The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass vs. ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Bang Bang Gang.
Both teams had an extensive history together prior to the match, but would form an unlikely supergroup known as The Bang Bang Scissor Gang in February, however, this alliance would last little longer than a month.
In front of a raucous crowd in St Louis at AEW Dynasty 2024, both sets of teams looked to unify the two sets of titles as well as settle their personal feud for good.
After a back-and-forth encounter the match seemed to be over when Jay White struck Billy Gunn with a bat while the referee was distracted – leading to The Gunns hitting a 3:10 to Yuma for a near-fall.
The Acclaimed would then rally for a near-fall of their own before Jay White would finally put away Gunn with a Blade Runner – unifying the two sets of titles and officially becoming the Unified World Trios Champions.
