Following the month-long tournament, Zack Sabre Jr. has made history by winning this year’s NJPW G1 Climax 34 tournament.

On August 18, New Japan Pro Wrestling held the G1 Climax 34 tournament finals with Zack Sabre Jr. facing Yota Tsuji. Both men looked to make history with a victory in the month-long tournament.
For Tsuji, he would become the first wrestler to win both the New Japan Cup and G1 Climax tournaments in one calendar year.

Meanwhile, Sabre Jr. would look to become the first British wrestler to win the premier tournament of NJPW.
In a 31 minute main event contest, ZSJ defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon’s Yota Tsuji with an arm and leg submission.

With his win, Sabre Jr. becomes the first British competitor to win and only the fourth foreigner to win the G1 Climax tournament since Kenny Omega won in 2016. He is also only the second since it was officially called the G1 Climax.
Post match, Zack Sabre Jr. announces that he will break from tradition and challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro Wrestling in October instead of on January 4, 2025 at WrestleKingdom.
JJA Sport Studio would like to congratulate Zack Sabre Jr. for his historic win.
